Welcome on the official website of the comeniusproject 'Hear my voice'!
Our goals for this project:
This Comeniusproject deals mainly with pedagogical/management issues. The partners, all of whom work with children and young people with severe to profound and multiple learning difficulties, aim to visit similar educational contexts across Europe in order to observe and learn from examples of good practice in enabling pupils with limited communication and physical mobility, and often, sensory impairments, to actively participate in the life of the school and the wider community. Teachers and support staff from participating institutions will share knowledge, understanding and innovative methods and hopefully gain insights that move forward the common cross-curricular goal of the participating institutions to develop students’ communication and thus their participation in their wider worlds. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is any method that supplements or replaces speech and writing. The methods of AAC are different in each country. Each partner school will host a visit to their school where they will share curriculum innovations and creative methods of meeting their students’ needs. They will also provide a picture of some of the challenges faced within their context in doing this. Each partner school will also provide a resource pack (a multi-sensory story suitcase about their country for partner schools to take back to share with their pupils on their return from a visit) to enable the pupils in each school to experience a European dimension to their learning in a relevant and meaningful way.
